I was thinking about the forthcoming cashless App today when, by coincidence, I received an email in the inbox from Kiva and it made me think about the important role of cash in most societies.
These emails arrive in the inbox from time to time to confirm to me that most people who lack opportunity as we all know it, are fundamentally genuine and honest in their desire to improve their lives and those of their families and communities. Along with other Kiva members around the world, we have contributed to small interest free loans to help individuals achieve their goals. Over the years, we have focused on contributing mostly to females with needs in Agriculture, Housing and Education. When a loan is repaid, we recycle the cash and reinvest it in someone else’s needs. Simple.
Amongst all the marketing rubbish in the daily inbox, it is always an uplifting message to know that we can all make a difference in a small way, in a world full of indifference and inequality.
You may want to have a look at www.Kiva.org, dreams are universal, opportunity is not!
